K Does Not Equal C

Pet Peeve number 1 gazillion. K substituted for C, only for the sake of kuteness. I hate it. If your business name is Kathy's Kool Kuts or Kids' Korner Klothes, you can bet you won't be earning my customer loyalty.

Where is the love of 'C'? Why must it be replaced with 'K'? Is 'K' a better letter? Has 'C' offended in some way?

Bring back the 'C'! I don't want to eat Kandy Korn or stop by the Kwik Korner. What's wrong with 'cuts' instead of 'kuts'? Every ten year old knows you don't spell cute with a 'K'!

You must loathe Krispy Kreme Donuts!

I know I do.

I don't find this substitution 'kute'...I think it looks skanky. Or should that be scanky?

(And BMM? What is it about those Krispy Kreme Donuts? They are vile, yet I always see people getting onto planes both at Melbourne and Sydney airports with boxloads of the things.)

I agree and what is with this new linguistics issue amongst teenage and tweenie girls where every sentence is "like"" something. why has this word become so popular as a filler in conversation?

Right with you Melinda! We'll have a march on the local Krispy Kreme with a giant red pen. While we're there can we change the Kreme to Cream as well. Oh, and we'll cross out the word 'donut' and replace it with 'crap'. Crispy Cream Crap. Much better.

So agree! I am really anti the personalised car registration plates we have here with inventive spelling along those lines (you have to fit your vanity into 6 letters so there's a lot of irritating abbreviations and mispellings), and have been freely venting my bias in front of my children so that they they think they're stupid too.

I am with fairlie. Skanky it is. The 'z' instead of the 's' is equally as skanky, IMO.

(BMM and fairlie - I have never tried them, but I have been told that people actualy drive to the airport just to get some? )

I don't buy anything from any shop that spells things in a way that they find inventive or funny or cute. They're all idiots!

Harsh, I know, but someone has to have standards.
