Yuck!

We've been struck by the stomach virus again. J.T. started last night at 10 p.m. It has been a long night of fetching gingerale, wet washcloths, and bucket duty. He HATES being sick (gets it from me). So after our first round, he looks at me and says: "Can we say a prayer that I will be better RIGHT NOW!" I said yes. But he would probably have to wait for it to get out of his system. He was not amused.

On top of him being sick, we were under tornado watches and warnings for most of the evening. So we've got one ear out for him and one ear out for the weather radio. And Melinda "The Panicker" is imagining us holed up in our bathroom with a vomiting child while a tornado rages around us. Stomper Girl would have been doing the same thing. Atlanta was hit with a rare tornado Friday night. The CNN center in downtown actually got a good bit of damage. March is tornado month in the South. Warm spring air is moving in and it creates such violent weather when it hits the cold air. (Bet you didn't think you'd be getting a meteorology today)

Rob took the first shift and I got up at 4 a.m. to relieve him. The morning has been spent plying the sick one with Dr. Pepper, Sponge-bob and Jimmy Neutron videos. Abby has been the little Momma. Offering wet cloths, blankets and piling the bedside table high with canned drinks. How ironic that he's too sick to enjoy her kindness? It is not a frequent happening. Nice Abby. She's usually yelling at him to "get out of my room! He's looking at me!! I wanted that (with the requisite whiny tone)!"

Right now I'm wishing we had gotten hardwood floors instead of carpet. Vomit on carpet is very difficult to clean. I'm pretty sure I've rubbed a bare spot into the den carpet as I scrubbed it with lysol and a brush. Here's hoping Rob and I aren't next.

Wooded floors are great with small kids and pets. I'm bringing up my four on them. Loud, but very practical when you need them to be.

A vomiting kid is bad enough, but twisters as well?? The only twister we get comes packaged as a game. Hope he's feeling happier and that you've side stepped the bug.

Hope JT is feeling better and that you have escaped any bad weather. Here we are complaining about mulitple hot days while you are worried about tornado watches.

Tornados where you are?

Padawan Learner and I have just been reading "Twister Trouble" - one of the Magic School Bus books where the Magic School Bus turns into a Storm chaser van and gets sucked up into the tornado. I guess that wouldn't seem so amusing from where you are right now...

(Of course they all get out of it okay and go on to make an excellent presentation at the Wild Weather Show at their school.)!

Anyway, hope that the vomitting stops soon and the Tornado warning doesn't turn into an actual tornado.

We have wooden floors. But carpet in the bedrooms. Guess where all the vomits get vomited!

I hope you are keeping well and safe in what sounds like pretty trying circumstances.

I feel for you, I really do. Two of my least favourite things, anxiety and vomit. I really really really hope you and Rob are not struck down, also Abby if she hasn't already.

kids never get sick at a moment when it is convenient. It's always a drama!

I would find the tornado watch enormously stressful!

Ahhh carpet, it is not the friend of parents. We ripped all ours up.

Hope you get through the tornadoes and the chuck unharmed.

Nothing worse than the vomit bug. They always seem to chuck when you aren't there to hold the bucket in the right position. So have you been in a Tornado? I would be scared witless.

Vomit and tornados...that's quite a combination.

Hope J.T. has got it out of his system...and that it hasn't moved into yours.

I have never been in a tornado. My father has missed them by less than a mile while at work and on the way to work. They are very scary because they are so unpredictable. The chucking is over (please, please, please don't let me get it).
