The things that made me happy today.
Warm brownies and cold milk.
Ten minutes of lazy waking up after the alarm went off.
"Hey, Mom! The tooth fairy left me $5!"
Little bits of cotton fluff scattered on the roadsides.
A seven year old girl in a purple tutu.
Japanese for lunch.
New Lipstick.
Pumpkin spice candles.
Empty laundry baskets.
Mix-tapes: Band of Horses, the Dittybops, Bruce Springsteen, Sally Seltmann.
Sunshine and Autumn leaves and giant bales of hay.

When would you say is the best time of year in your part of the world?
Is it now? After the heat of summer? It sounds very beautiful right now.
oh yes! But you never know when it will be HOT.... today was a bit warm, even though most of the country is well into the cool days of Autumn. Also, early Spring.... late March early April, when the Dogwoods and Azaleas are in bloom.
I love that photo Melinda. I get a very virtuous feeling when the laundry baskets are empty. Doesn't happen that often mind.
Laundry baskets are empty?? That's my idea of nirvana. You are living the dream.
We don't really have much of an autumn here in the sub tropics, and I do miss the idea of leaves and turned colours. You have painted a very pretty picture in my head. Thank youx
